Quilting Class vs. Baseball Game

I had to Miss this Weeks class! It was My DS Last baseball Game & I just Could Not miss it.
So, No new quilting pictures.
But, I am Very Proud to say My Son's team went 14-0
UNDEFEATED!!
It has been 10 years(at this park) since Any Team has went Undefeated!
I think that is an Amazing Accomplishment, Especially since they are 5-6yr olds.
He also was Chosen for the All Star Team! I am a Very Proud Mom!!

Estate Sale Treasures!!!

Look at these Wonderful items I found at an Estate Sale yesterday!
The Darling Woman these Treasures belonged to, Past in April of this year. She was 100!!!
Mrs.Moon's Family showed Me a picture that was taken of Her in November & She looked to be in Her 70's or 80's.
I was So Tickled to find such Wonderful Treasures!
11 Embroidered Pillow cases, 8 Embroidered table runners, 8 Embroidered doilies, 6 Crocheted doilies.

2 Full size Quilt tops, 10-15"square Quilt blocks, 8-10"square "bow tie" Quilt blocks, & a shoebox Full of little quilt pieces(some still have the 1951 paper on the pieces)

8-14"square Quilt blocks, 9-12"square Quilt blocks, 15 Flower blocks(with edging), 32 Flower blocks(without edging)

All Hand Sewn!

This cute little Vintage J.& P. Coats thread box has 2 little spools of thread, some little Hexagon quilt pieces & Mrs.Moon's template for the hexagons!

I am Not sure of what I will do with these Goodies. It would be Very Hard for me to part with them, just thinking of the Lovely Lady who Created them & surely Cherished them Too!

3rd Quilt Class

Our class is moving right along. This is what we Accomplished this week.
We had to Make 6 of these for Our Project. I think I mentioned that it Will Not be a Full size Quilt when it is Completed. It will Be more like a Throw or a Wall Hanging!

Quilting Class Update!

Ok, I said I was going to Post My progress in My Quilting Class!
Actually I think I am doing pretty Good!
It is Definitely Harder than I thought it would be! Just Picking out my Fabric selection was quite Interesting!!
You Really have to Think about what You are doing. There are 5 of Us in the Class & for the Entire 3 hours we are there, We hardly Speak to each other. I thought We would be Laughing & Visiting! Ha-Not So!
And the Progress seems to Be so SLOW!
But All in All, I am having a Great Time & Hopefully after the 7th Class, I will know alittle about Quilting & have a Beautiful Wall Hanging! I hope to put it in My Sewing Room!
This is what We Accomplished on the 1st Night!

And I finished 3 out of Four of These "Bear Claw" Blocks on the 2nd Night of Class! I have to Finish 1 more before Tuesday!

Dammit Doll Swap!

This is the Cute "Dammit Doll" I just Finished for My swap Partner!
I had never made one or even heard the Poem. It took me awhile to get Started but I really had Fun making the Doll-I added the Apron & the Jewelry!
The container turned out Very Pretty!!
Of course I threw in some Little extras-a Bookmark, some Cute Buttons, & some Yummy Tea bags for Her to enjoy!
Here is the Poem for those of You who have not Heard it!
When you want to climb the wall,
and stand right up & Shout.
Here's a little Dammit Doll
You can not do without.
Just grasp it Firmly by the Legs,
& find a Place to Slam it!
And as You Whack the stuffing Out,
Yell Dammit, Dammit, Dammit!
If Dammit's not a woud You use
then Twist its little neck
& Grumble out repeatedly
Oh Heck, Oh Heck, Oh Heck!
And once Your done abusing it
just sit it on a shelf.
But, Hug it first, as I'd Hug You
if I were there Myself!
(cute ;o) isn't it!)
